↓the idea
Every year South Africa wastes ten million tonnes of food, and nearly half of it is fruit and veg. Much of it comes from small farmers who simply can’t sell at retail scale. We buy that produce at a fair price, blend it fresh with oats and chia alongside the women who run ECD centres, and bottle it for people who are building something. No guilt trip. Just a very good smoothie.

why we exist
Every bottle is blended in partnership with women who run early childhood development centres – creating income for the centres now, and working toward nutritious food for their kids next.

We support local farmers who can’t sell their produce at retail scale – buying good fruit and veg at a fair price that would otherwise have nowhere to go.
We partner with women who run Early Childhood Development centres and train them to produce and sell our smoothies – additional income, and a real path to becoming entrepreneurs.
Every smoothie is fresh, delicious and nutrient-dense, with no added preservatives or colourants. Chilled, labelled and ready when you are.
sluk was founded by six passionate UCT students who wanted to make a positive impact in the world – and are working together to be the change they want to see.
the names on the bottle
Annie, Sandra and Ronel run Early Childhood Development centres – and they are the reason sluk exists in the shape it does.
We don’t just buy their time. We train them to make the smoothies from start to finish: blending each batch, packaging it, labelling it and selling it themselves. It’s a full skill set and a real business, so the women running these centres can earn their own income selling their own sluk smoothies – and grow as entrepreneurs while they do it.
Every flavour carries the name of the woman who inspired it, because the bottle in your hand is genuinely hers.
